The operation results they claimed are at least quite contrary to the independent peer reviews, e.g, in J. U, Science and Nature. Mr. Xiao has admitted his criminal offence, and no evidence shows that he is treated badly in police's hands. So it's hard to understand what they are supporting.
I, a Chinese, at least feel uncomfortable that a doctor on a reputed position committed schemed felon. Also, it should be until the operation is fully proved that I am proud of him.
